Birthdays, anniversaries, garden and house parties. They make up most of my year, and they're still my favourite kind of night.

At a private party everyone knows each other, which makes it both fun and tricky. Expectations are high, tastes vary, and there's always someone who knows exactly which song should be played. I love that.

Above all, I watch what happens on the dance floor. Of course I take your taste in music and your wishes into account, but in the moment the room sets the pace. From a relaxed start to a final hour where everyone sings along.

A garden or house party often needs a little extra in terms of sound and lighting. I can arrange that too: from a compact set for a garden to a full installation for a venue, plus a DJ booth that looks good instead of a black box.

Frequently asked questions about private parties

Can you play at our home or in the garden?

Yes. I bring my own DJ set-up and check with you beforehand what's needed in terms of sound and power. For a garden party I can arrange a compact sound and lighting set through my regular suppliers.

Can we send you song requests?

Requests are possible. We'll discuss how to handle them beforehand, because in practice they don't always work well for the dance floor. I'll explain my approach in our conversation.
