Frequently asked questions

Can't find your question? Just send me a WhatsApp message — I usually reply within a few hours.

Which area do you cover?
I live in Alphen aan den Rijn and play most often around Leiden and the rest of the Randstad. I travel up to about an hour's drive from Alphen aan den Rijn, so that includes The Hague, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Amsterdam, Haarlem, Gouda, Zoetermeer, Katwijk, Noordwijk and Wassenaar. Further away? Just ask — I'll think along or refer you to a colleague I trust. Travel within 50 km is included in the price.
How much does a DJ for a wedding or corporate event cost?
A night with DJ Anders starts from € 740 including VAT: three hours of DJ, with my own DJ set-up, the meeting beforehand, preparation, travel within 50 km, and set-up and breakdown. What it comes to for you depends on how long I play, whether lighting and sound are needed and which extras you'd like. I'll put that in a tailored proposal.
What happens if you get sick?
Then an experienced fellow DJ from my network, someone I know well, is ready to step in. They get everything we discussed together, so your party goes ahead exactly as planned.
What time do you usually start?
I usually start right after dinner, when the party begins. I open gently with warm, familiar feel-good songs, so everyone can catch up and grab a drink. Then often comes the first dance, and the night builds step by step, up to a final hour of guilty pleasures and singalongs. Want me to play from the reception or during dinner? Simply book me a bit longer.
What music do you play?
Whatever suits your night. With 15+ years of experience — from festivals like Lowlands, Tomorrowland and Mysteryland to clubs, venues and more than twenty weddings a year — I can handle almost any style. We decide together what I'll play in our conversation beforehand, and during the night I mostly watch what's happening on the dance floor.
Can we make song requests?
Requests are possible. I always discuss beforehand how we'll handle them, because in practice they don't always work well for the dance floor. In our introductory meeting I'll explain my approach, and together we'll choose what suits your night best.
Do you bring your own equipment?
Yes. I play on my own AlphaTheta XDJ-AZ, including a microphone. A sound system, lighting and a DJ booth can be arranged through regular suppliers I've worked with for years.
Do you also host or MC?
I'm a DJ first and foremost, not a host. If there's nobody else, I can announce the first dance, but for more extensive hosting I'd rather find someone for whom that is their speciality. I'm happy to think along about who would suit you.
Can you also arrange lighting, sound and live acts?
Yes, and I often do. Besides DJing, I've been organising events for over ten years. I arrange lighting and sound, a DJ booth, a saxophonist or violinist, magic acts, a photo booth, and photography and video through people I know and trust. That way you have one point of contact.
How does booking work?
Send a WhatsApp message or fill in the form with your date and venue. I'll let you know right away whether I'm available and we'll schedule a free introductory meeting. After that you receive a tailored proposal. Only when everything is right do we confirm the date.
Do you play for English-speaking crowds?
Absolutely. Many weddings and company parties have international guests, and the music itself is mostly international anyway. We can do the introductory meeting in English too.
